Two full-time PhD scholarships in the EU FP7 Project COINVENT 'Concept Invention Theory' - Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany
The Institute of Knowledge and Language Engineering at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany, offers two PhD scholarships until November 2016 (with a possible extension subject to available funding) for students pursuing a full-time PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence in the area of knowledge representation and reasoning for computational creativity. The positions are offered within the context of COINVENT, a high-profile international research project funded under the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme.
This 3-year project involves three partner universities (University of Bristol, University of Strasbourg and Technical University of Valencia) with the overall aim of developing an innovative and principled approach to knowledge reuse which will allow a range of known machine learning and data mining techniques to deal with common contextual changes, including: changes in data representation; the availability of new background knowledge; predictions required at a different aggregation level; and models to be applied to a different subgroup or distribution.
One post-doc position in ICT on the research project "Advanced SMT Techniques for Word-level Formal Verification - (WOLF)" is available in Trento, Italy, under the joint supervision of Alessandro Cimatti, FBK, Trento, and Roberto Sebastiani, DISI, University of Trento.
