Advisory Board Meeting. June 18, 2008. Barcelona, Spain

The first Advisory Board Meeting related to the Agreement Technologies (AT) project and corresponding to the Consolider - Ingenio 2010 funding line is about to start up. It will be held on Wednesday June 18 at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (IIIA-CSIC) in Bellaterra (Barcelona), Spain. Presentations and discussions are planned to begin at 10.00 am in the aforesaid premises with an introduction on account of the professor and coordinator of the project Carles Sierra. Mr. Vicent Botti and Sascha Ossowski, two key partners of this project, will also take part in the event.

The Advisory Board consists of some of the most prominent and relevant researchers from the moment, such as Cristiano Castelfranchi and Katia Sycara, among others. This meeting intends to serve as a launching platform for exchanging opinions and ideas respect of the project direction to be followed. Preliminary plans will be analysed under the guidance of the referred project coordinator.

To sum up the main lines of this five-year project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, it may be said that it covers the key research topics in the field of Agreement Technologies in a natural tower structure, where each level provides functionality to the levels above. There will be addressed five different levels for this purpose: Semantics, Norms, Organisations, Argumentation and negotiation and, finally, Trust. We do not forget that aspects like tool suite, infrastructure and case studies are going to be dealt with, as well.
